Zebra technologies, which is one of the leaders in card printing and in labeling of bar code, has announced that they are offering smart card encoding solution, which is optional and integrated.
This encoder option supports ISO/IEC 7816 standard for any contact smart cards.
The Zebra P330i is a single sided and full color of plastic card encoder. It meets the needs of a wide variety of industries and applications. It removes the problem of multiple vendors. It also eliminates the need for various cables between the computers and the printers.
The combination of single and Ethernet connectivity has several benefits:
Firstly, it improves the efficiency, and many users can share one single encoder. Secondly, it increases the flexibility. The network allows the host computer to be placed at any distance from the encoder. Thirdly, the supplies and the card printer can be situated in a secured room even if there is no security for the operator’s creating the card. In this respect, net cards and the SIM applications are also important.
The smart card encoder is one of many features which for the user’s convenience. The card personalization of the card body is heat transfer print, embossing and ink jet print. According to the data, offered by the client, either the names or the numbers can be personalized on the card. The kinds of encoding available are magnetic stripe encoding and chip encoding. If the card is hybrid then both will be encoded.
For bankcards, the encoding and personalization are done in very secured centers of personalization certified by master card and visa.
